Job Description:
NTUA – R-NanoLab is expanding its LCA team and is seeking a Research Associate to contribute to newly awarded Horizon Europe projects. The position is primarily technical and modelling-oriented, focusing on methodological consistency and robustness of sustainability and LCA approaches for real-world applications, including tools and sector-specific use cases.

Role
• Product Environmental Footprint (PEF)-aligned methodological frameworks in dedicated sectors
• Development and structuring of LCA-based modelling workflows
• Harmonisation and standardisation of sustainability assessment procedures
• Prospective and scenario-based LCA
• Sustainability evaluation of advanced materials and manufacturing systems

Responsibilities
• Execute cradle-to-grave and scenario-based LCA
• Support the LCA team in delivering research tasks and project commitments
• Participate in consortium meetings (occasional traveling)
• Assist the team in monitoring and reviewing sustainability-related work carried out by project partners
• Contribute to technical discussions and provide input to sustainability-informed decision-making

Required Profile
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience
• Strong understanding of LCIA methods, including impact pathways, environmental mechanisms and characterisation factors
• Critically interpret LCA results and recognise methodological limitations and data gaps
• Familiarity with PEF methodology
• Analytical thinking and technical writing skills in English Highly Valued
• Experience in HE or other EU-funded projects
